The Ad–Hoc General Assembly of the Director–General is a premier committee of high–caliber debate at UCBMUN XXVII and the very first, collegiate Ad–hoc GA in the United States of America! While Ad–Hoc Crisis Committees have long been present on the circuit, we look forward to offering a similar experience to General Assembly delegates. The committee will employ special procedures to ensure debate remains lively and that all delegates are challenged to their fullest. While procedures will be released to all delegates well in advance, the topic(s) of the committee itself will remain hidden and will be announced a few hours before the start of the first committee session.

The crossword below is from Issue 8 of the IS Times. Solving the crossword will lead to not one but two passwords. These passwords will unlock two quali-tea papers closely related to the theme of the committee. A little reward for all your hard work! The passwords will be the first letters of the across side, and the first letters of the down side, in capital letters. For example, if the answer to down 1 is APPLE, down 2 is BANANA, down 3 is GREENTEA, down 5 is OOLONG, etc. and the letters lead to ABGOLJMKLW, then that is the password for the Down article.

Hi! My name is Vishwaa Sofat and I am ecstatic to be one of your Chairs for the Ad–hoc Committee of the Director–General. I am a junior from New York City, studying Political Science and STS. Having participated in Model UN throughout high school, MUN—and GA committees, in particular—holds a special place in my heart. After having served as one of the UCBMUN's Head Delegates last year, it is my honor to be serving as President of our organization this year. I am beyond excited to be working with Kobe and our entire conference Secretariat to bring you the first collegiate Ad–hoc GA in the United States of America.

Sincerest greeting delegates! It is an absolute honor to be one of your chairs for our Ad–Hoc Committee of the Director–General. With any luck in less than a year the name Antonio Kobe Lopez will be on a degree for Economics and Public Policy (with a minor in theater too). What that degree won't be saying about my time in college is all the cups of coffee, random walks about town, or more importantly how much I've enjoyed my time in MUN and how excited I've always been to staff and compete as a part of UCBMUN. Seeing delegates just like you compete is consistently an absolute pleasure and I can't wait to see what you can make of our topic.
